Tutabaale EP, an evocative musical journey by Maganda Shakul, emerges from the heart of Uganda, showcasing a rich tapestry of indigenous rhythms and traditional sounds. This extraordinary EP, produced in 2022, serves as a bridge between ancient Ugandan musical heritage and contemporary expression, reflecting a profound connection to cultural roots and community.

Tutabaale is a Lugandan word meaning “Exploring the Ancient Knowledge,” encapsulating the essence of this project. The EP was conceived and brought to life at the Nilotika Cultural Hub in Kampala, Uganda, a haven for cultural preservation and artistic innovation. Despite facing significant challenges due to limited recording materials, Maganda Shakul’s unwavering commitment to his craft and culture shines through in every track.
